Facial fillers are more preferred by some people because it has a more temporary effect than Botox. Depending on what kind of filler you get, the results can last up to 6 months to two years. Some semi-permanent and permanent fillers can even last up to five years and there are even results that says it can last longer than that.
What are my options?
There are two major types of facial fillers that you can choose from, the naturally derived ones and the synthetic ones.
Natural ones are also called hyaluronic acid, it has a smaller risk of being developed into an allergy and it also lasts for only three months to 18 months, some may last to two years, but normally nothing longer than that. Because it dissipates in time, the results that come with it can also come back and cause more wrinkles, so a yearly maintenance is common for natural fillers.
Synthetic fillers have more risks of allergy because of inserting something that is not natural into our skin. These types of fillers are more permanent and can last up to 5 years and even longer. And because it is more permanent, if allergies or other problems occur, it can also mean that the problem will last longer or might be harder to correct.
